
For those of us who have been bunny holders since the beginning... those of us who were the first to mint any NFT on Optimism period...
have been waiting for this day and it's finally here! Opensea is now listing our projects along with the rest of the Optimism community!

## The Journey

Back when we were the first to launch an NFT collection on Optimism, things were rough. There was no marketplace,
and many traders were putting a great deal of trust in each other, reaching out to each other to send Ether in the
hopes that they would not get rugged. To many of us's surprise, there was not a whole lot of misplaced trust. We all
wanted this to work. We were the early adopters and we knew it.

Within a few months, a marketplace opened up, (formerly) Quixotic. We were overjoyed that it was easy to view our
collected NFT's and trade them, without the archaic system of sending Ether and hoping and praying for an NFT in return.
Although, there were not that many collections on OP for quite some time.

Quix evolved, and with it came many other crypto enthusiasts and NFT collectors alike, willing to build out the ecosystem
and keep momentum going. Looking back, it's hard to believe where we are today.

OpenSea brings with it mainstream adoption and ease of use for the average person to quickly and easily add digital
collectibles to the blockchain, and focus on the fun parts - art, music, engineering, and a combination of all of the above.

We are so happy that this day has come. This is a game changer for all us who have been there through the journey and
want to promote the ethos that has become so synonymous with the network. We welcome OpenSea with open arms, just as
we embrace the makers that have come to this wonderful place we call home from other chains.

Opensea Floodgates


Last week we had a fantastic AMA session with the Cryptovania team on Twitter Spaces to get
into the nitty-gritty of how their brand new **storyverse** NFT project is going to work, how they
plan to release, and an overview of the team and their inspiration. The following is a paraphrased completely
of how that went.

DistractionBoy: When do you plan on opening the mint, and how can listeners get on a whitelist? Will there be one?

A: No, we're not going to do a whitelist, but we will be giving out a different set of NFT's called
Cryptovania Blood Runes, and with each Blood Rune you can claim one free Cryptovania NFT. All next week,

DistractionBoy: I read the whitepaper over on ‘https://cryptovania.gitbook.io’ and I really like this idea of taking
a step backwards to the bloggy storytelling days of web1, because it inspires creativity. Can
you talk a little bit about how you were inspired to bake that into an NFT project and how you
discovered it can be coded into a smart contract?

A: We are all big gamers, having played games like Halo, Mass Effect... ones like that, where you
kind of craft your own story... and we recognized how the story aspect has declined in recent years.
We wanted to bring that creativity to web3 and the NFT space on Optimism. As for the technical
capabilities, we lean on Mark [from Quixotic] for those details.

DistractionBoy: You know, it's funny that you mention Halo, because that's where my screen name comes from.
Just before I left for the Army, my best friend and I were living together and would play through the game
on Legendary all the time. You know that one snow level where you go through it kinda ... reverse? Well, my
friend would say, "go run out there and be distraction boy so the snipers pop their heads out and I can get 'em".
You know, one of the things I like about this project is that it’s not so focused on the monetary aspect, where
luck of the draw completely dictates an NFT’s worth… but let’s talk Tokenomics. There’s going to be a total of
10,000 mintable characters of either peasant or noble backgrounds, but if every single one of them tests their
might against Dracula, we could end up with a collection of just 1,000, based on the rough probability of
becoming immortal. That’s a really interesting way to increase rarity. Your thoughts?

A: Oh, yeah, so for those listening who might not know, we're building this mechanism into the collection where
an NFT holder can **go up against Dracula** and risk their NFT for a chance of it becoming "immortal" and the
some other visual aspects will change... like maybe their skin will change color and stuff like that. But if you
lose the battle with Dracula, then your NFT gets burned and you lose it forever. And you have a rougly 1 in 10
chance of winning. So yes, we would imagine that over time, as more players risk their NFT's, the ones that remain
may be more valuable.

DistractionBoy: But while you hold your NFT, you can keep contributing to the story of your NFT, and the story
of the collection.

A: Yes, that's correct. And you can affirm other people's stories, and over time, bits and pieces of stories become
**canon**, so maybe multiple people talk about "the church in the middle of the town square", and then future stories
that talk about the church need to make sure that they keep it in that location in their stories.

DistractionBoy: That's so cool. I really like that aspect. So, one final question. I saw in the whitepaper that
you are hoping other developers would build unique websites and things to help bolster this idea of the storyverse.
Are there any particular ideas or capabilities that you can think of that you'd like to see from the community?

A: One idea we had is that someone might have a page of their website that is devoted to all those who went up against
Dracula and has a gravestone for everyone that perished, or maybe groups of friends could build a site that is concentrated
on their stories.

DistractionBoy: Oh I see. Ok. ... Now you're getting the wheels turning in my head about the possibilities.

The next focus of the project is on community building and collaborating with other NFT projects on Optimism.

We have a great community that we've built over the past 6 months and I expect the community to continue to grow. We want to take our community to the next level by introducing more activities that are fun for bunny holders to participate. As a bunny holder, you may get free mints or whitelist from other projects as we increase our circle of friends in the Optimism NFT space.

The warren is growing daily! It's an exciting time to be a member of the bunnies community.


Update: Phase 4


Lately, Optimism has been more active than ever, with the drop of the OP token
and the first of three massive airdrops to its customer base. We don't yet know
the criteria for the second drop, but I for one have been poking around for easy
and interesting ways to stay active. The goal is simple - see what I can have fun
doing, all while taking advantage of low gas fees with high security, and hopefully
make a buck here or there and learn something new. To follow up on Cryptovania's
"storyverse" concept, a card game NFT collection called **Dragonia** is coming soon,
exclusively to Optimism.

What makes this collection unique is that it brings with it a turn-based card game
with incentives to hold, and play daily. The rules of the game are described on
the rules page of their [website](https://www.dragonia.gg/#rules). Basically you
square off against another Trainer and take turns delivering hit points that magnify
by matching dragon elements and Trainer elements, and the winner receives XP which
they can use for more rewards, but there's a cooldown. So holders are encouraged to
play often, and fairly. In addition, half of all commissions on secondary sales are
given back to the holders, based on the rarity of their Trainer(s). The
rarest type, "Dragonborn", consists of 3% of all Trainers and when it
comes to revenue gets 6%, split between a total of only 180 Trainers.
"Legendary" and "Common" holders earn 94%, split between the 5820 Trainers.
Most people won't get much just for holding one Trainer of any type, but in time,
it could be a good chunk of change each month. It's not unrealistic to expect 10%-20% of
the mint price per year if you're a Dragonborn holder.

Gameplay happens off-chain so it's actions are seemless and gameplay is fast, but Players
have to re-sync to claim on-chain rewards using their earned XP and other goodies. This is
why Optimism was hands down their first and only choice. Players will want to be active and
are incentivized to play and earn real rewards. The Dragonia team also chose Optimism because
they heard the Optimism community and support was warm and welcoming. Check out this exclusive
preview of a card design below that the Dragonia and Optimism teams constructed **together**!

Now that we have a little more time to catch our breath, we would like to announce that the next donation to retroactive public goods has been made. This brings the running total of donated funds up to 6% total revenue.

Retroactive Public Goods (PDF) is a fund that is contributed to by those whose projects are successful and pulled from by those who want to build.

Our second Companion NFT release is here, and we're updating a few things on our end to go along with it!

First of all, the site you are using right now, to read this post, has been something that we've been working on since February, just after we released the Pixel Bunnies set. We wanted to make the minting process more seemless and less error prone, and better using the Web3 stack to allow the user to do more on the site without needing to connect their wallet.
